UTO – United Thank Offering

UTO Spring Ingathering

Our United Thank Offering from our ingathering on May 2, 2021 was $806.03.  That was our first in person ingathering since 2019.  We appreciate all who  participated and want to encourage all to keep adding coins and prayers to their Little Blue Boxes.  Our Fall Ingathering is scheduled for November 7 and will  include our monthly Pot Luck!
Blessings,
Your UTO Team

UTO-BOX

Everyone within our parish is encouraged to participate in UTO….Children and adults alike. It is a way of taking the time to say our prayers of gratitude for all of the blessings of our lives. As we drop coins into the little blue boxes, we create a tangible representation of our thankfulness. It is a wonderful way of teaching our children and reminding ourselves, that we are all called to serve one another in life. The outreach of this mission extends throughout the world.

What is UTO?

An organization created to offer financial assistance to help spread the gospel and to assist people with compelling human needs (examples include missionary support, building facilities allowing us to broaden god’s work in many countries besides the us, drilling water wells in communities which have no fresh water supplies,….)

Is all of the money used for assisting others?

Yes! In fact every penny of it goes directly to the people in need! The operational costs of running UTO are supplied through a trust established for that purpose as well as the costs for publishing materials used in collection and education about the program.

What happens to the money collected at Holy Trinity?

Twice a year, as suggested by the diocesan UTO chairperson, we hold an “ingathering sunday” (spring – 1st Sunday of May, and fall – 1st Sunday of November). During these two Sundays, we collect the “little blue boxes” in which you have been dropping your coins as you say your prayers of thanksgiving. We also place envelopes on the pews for a special collection opportunity (apart from the regular plate offerings). These are collected and counted by our local UTO team and then submitted to our diocesan coordinator, who collects from all of the parishes within our diocese. Holy trinity has faithfully supported UTO through the years, and has remained one of the top contributors of this very worthwhile ministry.“

Altar Flowers

Donation for Altar Flowers

Many people have special days in the year which they commemorate. Flowers on the altar of Holy Trinity can fittingly mark the anniversary of a birth, baptism, confirmation, marriage or death, or may be used as an expression of joy of thanksgiving at any time. When flowers are given a special announcement is printed in the Sunday bulletin.

Anyone may give flowers at Holy Trinity for any Sunday desired. If more than one gift is received for a Sunday, the additional money is placed in the general Flower Fund. After Sunday services, flowers from the altar are given at the discretion of the clergy to sick or shut-in members of the parish.

Currently, the suggested donation for Altar Flowers is $100 ($50 for Easter).

Christmas and Easter gifts are used for the flowers and plants which decorate our church on those festivals.

(Please remember that there are no flowers on the altar during Lent.)

If you would like to make an online donation for flowers on a particular Sunday, and/or for Christmas, Easter, or the Thanksgiving Day services, please contact the Parish Office 432.683.4207.
